Dear Graduate and Alumni,

It is with pride that your 'Alma Mater Studiorum' is turning golden on 25th October, 2011.

As we celebrate 50 years of age we retrace the history of our vision, inspiration, challenges, courage, change and success. On 25th October, 1961 the Faculty of Law of the University College, Dar es Salaam, the precursor of the University of Dar es Salaam opened its doors to the first class of 13 students. Ever since, we have evolved from being a licensee of the University of London to offer LL.B degrees (1961), to Dar es Salaam University College, a constituent College of the then University of East Africa (1963), and in 1970, to the fully fledged University of Dar es Salaam.

Today the University of Dar es Salaam is a proud 'nourishing mother' to more than 56,000 alumni worldwide. This pride and success has to be immortalized. Each and every one of us has to be listed in its annals and enjoined in all challenges and affairs and shares the successes and prosperity as we take the Alma Mater into her centenary.

This is a call for you to register your deserved participation in the proud history of the Great Alma Mater of Tanzania. Please, register yourself through the Alumni Portal of the UDSM Website alumni.udsm.ac.tz and be part of the history and the future of the University of Dar es Salaam.
